Americans are tweeting to the tune of 400 million tweets per day. To put this in perspective———in 2007 there were 5,000 tweets daily, by January 2010 32 million tweets, in April 2012 340 million tweets. It is a great way to stay in touch, but 140 characters have been known to kill careers and destroy reputations. Just as with other social media—-Facebook, YouTube, whatever——your reputation and image is shaped by what you tweet or photos posted. Don’t be stupid—-never post anything you will regret the next day.
